Showing of "A Plastic Ocean"

Transition Belper and St Peter's Church

are hosting a showing of the award winning film

A Plastic Ocean

about the impact of plastic on our oceans.

Friday September 21st in St Peter's Church, Chesterfield Road, Belper.

Doors open at 19.00 for refreshments with the film starting at 19.30.

The film is 102 minutes long.

Application for Permit Parking Scheme - St Johns Chapel Car Park

The Town Council has leased St Johns Car Park from St Peters Church.

The Car Park is next to St Johns Chapel, just off St Johns Road, Belper, DE56 1JE.

Work is undergoing to resurface the Car Park. Work should finish by the end of August 2018. The Car Park will have security lighting and an electric barrier.

St Johns Chapel closure for works

St Johns Chapel closure for works

The Town Council has leased the Land at the side of the Chapel and obtained Planning Permission to resurface it to use as a Car Park. The Town Council has also obtained Planning Permission to ramp the access to the Chapel. These works will commence on 6 August. Please be aware that the Car Park will be closed from 6 August to 31 August and the Chapel itself will be closed from 10 August to 20 August. Water use and the prolonged hot weather

The Town Council has a Stand Pipe hire agreement with Aquam on behalf of Severn Trent Water.

The Council uses the water from this stand pipe to water its hanging baskets and flower beds.

The Council is not watering the grass on its open spaces/parks.

The advice from Aquam is that during this prolonged period of hot weather users should be considerate and sensible with the volumes of water being taken. There are no current plans.. Read More »

Food Festival opens at 10am until 4pm. Over 100 stalls. Stalls on King Street, Campbell Street, Strutt Street and the Memorial Gardens.
