Severn Trent to complete essential maintenance work on Ripley Road, Buckland Hollow, Derbyshire.

Severn Trent is to begin essential maintenance work in Buckland Hollow in Derbyshire, so that customers can enjoy a reliable water supply for years to come.

The company will begin work to repair a leak on one of its major water pipes in the area, and will require a section of Ripley Road to be closed to keep engineers and road users safe.

Mark Wilkinson, from Severn Trent said: "This is really important work that will make sure people in Buckland Hollow have a water supply that they can rely on.

"Water is really important to our everyday lives, and we want to make sure that water is always available for our customers whenever they need it, so it's essential we get in and make these vital repairs when we can."

Severn Trent will begin work on Monday 9 April and is expected to take around four weeks to be completed.

B610 Ripley Road, Buckland Hollow will be closed between its junction with Chesterfield Road and the slip road towards the B6013.
A fully signposted diversion will be in place for motorists to keep traffic moving in the area.
"We need to make sure we can access the right sections of the pipe, so we do have to close a section of the road for the duration of the work." Mark adds "We're really sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, we will do everything we can to get the work completed as quickly as possible and the road re-opened at the earliest opportunity."

• Diverted traffic will go along the A6 and A38 towards Derby and vice versa
