Christmas Festival and Light Switch On

Milford
Thursday 24th November 2022 – 4.45pm
The lights will be switched on at Milford Triangle at 4.45pm by the Mayor.
Belper
Thursday 24th November 2022 – 5.45pm to 8pm
This year the Christmas Lights will be switched on at 5.45pm in the Memorial Gardens. There will be charity stalls on King Street and entertainment on the street.
The Council invites all shops and business premises to stay open and to join in.
Road Closures
The pedestrianised area of King Street from below Strutt Street to just above the junction of Campbell Street will be closed to traffic from 10am until 10pm.
From 4pm until 10pm the road closure extends to - King Street from its junction with the A609 (Cheapside/Market Place) to its junction with Strutt Street with no access to Green Lane. Strutt Street just before the Co-op car park entrance to King Street. Campbell Street from it's junction with New Road and King Street from the bottom of the pedestrianised area to the junction with the A6.
Stalls for Charitable Groups at the Christmas Lights Switch On
We are inviting charitable groups to have a stall at the lights switch on event.
The Council is not providing stalls this year and so you will need to provide your own stall or gazebo and tables.
You should bring a lantern for your stall as well. Stalls can be set up from 4pm and no later than 5.00pm.
