Dangers of pollution caused by idling vehicles

Belper Town Council are planning an initiative to raise awareness of the dangers of the pollution caused by cars idling outside schools and also that of inconsiderate parking.

Belper Town Council will have a presence at the end of the school day on the roads outside St John's school on Monday 16th September and at Pottery school on Tuesday 17th September.

Your councillors will be handing out leaflets and discussing the issues with car drivers.

Belper Town Council also hope to have a police community support officer with them.

We know that the vast majority of our community do park with consideration and are aware of the problems of leaving car engines running.

However, it is our intention to replicate this activity at all the Town's Primary Schools so that the message becomes hardwired and has an impact on behaviour.
